Slovakia's Prime Minister, Robert Fico, has been hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, according to an announcement on his official social media account. 

Reports from local media indicate that the 59-year-old leader was shot in the abdomen outside the House of Culture in the town of Handlova. 

A suspect has been apprehended by the police, although there is currently no information available regarding the motive behind the attack.

Zuzana Caputova, the President of Slovakia, has condemned the attack on Fico, describing it as "brutal and ruthless."
